Watch for this Super Bowl Commerical

A close friend of the show will be in the Sony Card commercial during the Super Bowl. We want to congratulate him and also thank him very much for all his help last year (and this year). You know who you are, David, and we wish you all the best (I will try not to bug you too much more now that the demos are close to going out!).

So keep an eye out for David and take a look at this fanstastic new card from Sony. I know I'll be getting one! I have been wanting a WEGA for months.

A Great Band - World Classic Rockers

Tuesday night was a huge blast. More of a networking and relationship building event for me (Max), but I had a great time. During dinner we had a band called World Classic Rockers. They rocked the house. Members of the band come from other bands like Toto, Grateful Dead, Skynyrd, Journey and others. I had a great time. Makes me want to kick start my guitar lessons with Garageband and eMedia Guitar Method The Easiest Way to Learn the Guitar. Thanks Dave Coyle for the tips, the guitar is ordered!

Special thanks go out to Daniel, Kevin and the "boyz" for a great night out.
I, and the whole show, appreciate your support, coaching and encouragment over the past 6 months. This will be a special "Page" in my book!

Terry Bradshaw

I had the pleasure of hearing Terry Bradsaw speak on Monday night.
Not being a huge football fan, I figured I was going to sit through it
and feign my applause - was I mistaken! Terry is an excellent speaker. At times I thought he was speaking right to me.... It was a great surprise and I am glad I did not leave early. I am considering getting his book.

We are doing as much as we can to help get the word out about the Family Tech Show. I go to some events I think are strange and do not appear to me to be beneficial, but the staff here is doing a good job as I always meet someone worthwhile and have a good time!

Kids in the Studio

Jennifer had the twins come by the studio on their way home from
school. The twins live on our street, but decided to visit
the studio on the way home today.

Funny thing is, right in the middle of them running around
and making a huge amount of noise, one of our
sponsors called.

"Are you guys doing a show or running a day care?"

It is nice to have visitors at the studio and we
apologize in advance if it is loud when you call. Of course,
we clear everyone out when we are live. Feel free to call
in or email us with your ideas for the show.

More Max Monkeying

Finding the perfect template for a new site is oh so difficult. Especially when you're a monkey person, like Max. I mention this because this is the year of the monkey. Hopefully that bodes well for our resident monkey man.

While Max tries to find the right hues and give credit to those due, sponsors for the show are beginning to pour in. (It's nice to be in a business where people actually read your mailings and respond to them!) Looks like our legwork at MacWorld and CES may do us a world of good, after all!

Too Much Information

Back to the grind... Putting together a show when you have more than enough information is more difficult than I thought. After going to 2 trade shows in a week, we have probably more than 2 shows worth of stuff to talk about. It's a struggle to pare it down to one show and not leave out something important, or timely, or at the very least fun and interesting. It's actually easier to talk at length (stre-e-e-e-tch it out) about fewer subjects, than it is to squeeze a ton of stuff in. It's never been our problem to run out of things to talk about... Okay, maybe we sometimes run out of interesting things to talk about!

Geeks in Sin City

Over a million square feet of exhibit space - and we walked nearly all of it!

Welcome to CES. If you want electronics, you've come to the right place. That doesn't explain some of what we saw. The weirdest thing, the thing that makes the most sense, the coolest outfit, the most popular displays and what we liked best. Just for the record, we saw more TVs than either of us ever thought we'd see in our lifetime.

The Temple of Macintosh

We made the pilgrimmage. Live, from MacWorld, it's the keynote!

Steve Jobs in the flesh, from the fourth row, no less! Yes, he's very charismatic. Yes, he knows he is. And John Mayer to boot!

Visit thedavidlawrenceshow.com to hear Vic's description of the keynote (Hour 2).

Ringin in the New - no Rain Necessary

Happy New Year!

We continued our tradition of staying in for New Year's Eve. We had hoped to have some friends join us, but they were unable to make it. (Feel better soon, L!) Though Max and Vic would've loved to spend the evening watching the VH1 list of 100 one-hit wonder bands ("No way - RATT had WAY more than just one hit!"),...

the prospect of spending that many hours watching a show hosted by William Shatner didn't seem to thrill the grandparents. Since this was the first year Jen got to stay up till midnight (last year we woke her up in time for the countdown), we had to find something a little more low-key than our usual cards or dominoes to keep her occupied. The bouncing around was beginning to irk those of us with much less energy. So, the movie of choice was "Singin' in the Rain." Most of us can recite the dialogue verbatim. We paused near the end of the movie to count down with Dick Clark, sip and kiss, have Jennifer throw confetti at us and in our beverages, and watch the grandparents dance around the kitchen to Donna Summer.

BTW, we had a rousing game of Skip-Bo earlier in the day when friends K1 and K2 visited for the afternoon. Thanks for the Christmas gifts from Russia! Vic gets a little nostalgic whenever she sees K1 (every 5 years or so), since they spent their formative years as best friends (grade 5 - high school). All the times we shared - dance recitals, school trips, chicken pox, chem experiments, Rocky Horror, Commander Salamander, concerts (Rock Lobster!), and K1's first and Vic's only trip to the Soviet Union. It does my heart good to realize I'm the one who introduced K1 to her first Russian class in high school, only to have her go on to be a professor and head of a prestigious Russian language program. Nice to know I can inspire at least one person to find a passion in life!

Hope this year we are all inspired to find our passion and the joy in our daily lives!
